Established in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-code domain name extension is quite popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for forming creative and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to construct an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to give it with colleagues and fellows. The TLD can also be used for a website, which is related to the information sector given the fact that IT is an abbreviation, which is accepted around the globe.

Since .IT domains are not sold directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that handles this top-level domain extension, such a domain can be ordered through a third-party provider, such as ours. You can obtain a dot IT domain for a year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it once the transfer has been finished. The sole restriction is that the person obtaining such a domain has to be located in a member state of the EU.

Since there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of various territories and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any sort are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion.
