Parked Domains
Discover what parked domains are, why they're so valuable and ways to park a domain.
A parked domain name is one that is taken, but it's not linked to any other service - web or email hosting. Basically, such a domain name will not open any actual content when you type it inside an Internet browser, but no one can take it as you've already registered it and you are its owner. The benefit of obtaining a domain name and parking it afterwards is the fact that you’ll be able to keep it and not worry that somebody else could possibly register it meanwhile if, for instance, the website for it is not ready yet. You could set a temporary Under Construction website page for a parked domain address while you are working on the web site, or forward it to another web address - temporarily or permanently. The latter option can be employed when you have already registered domain.com, for example, and you acquire domain.net and domain.org, in order to protect a brand name or a trademark. In this situation, the .net and .org domain names can be parked and forwarded to the .com because you do not need separate websites for them.
